She said, the adjective 'separate' is pronounced as 'sprate', while the verb 'separate' is pronounced is 'separate.' However, the phonetic symbols explains the adjective 'separte' sounds like "SE-prit." She corrected my pronunciation repeatedly, but I thought it was slightly different from correct one.
